This is Where I Begin

For years, I told myself I would start tomorrow.

Tomorrow became next week. Next week became next month. Before I knew it, years had quietly slipped by, and the person I wanted to become always seemed to be waiting just over the horizon.

Then one day I realized something.

There wasn't going to be a perfect Monday. There wasn't going to be a magical moment when motivation suddenly appeared, my schedule cleared, and healthy living became easy. If my life was going to change, it had to begin with an ordinary day. Today. This website is my way of saying that out loud.

Welcome to Jennifer Maier Living.

This isn't a place where you'll find someone who's already reached the finish line. In fact, you're meeting me near the very beginning of my journey. About a month ago, I made the decision to stop waiting for "someday." Since then, I've begun changing the way I eat, the way I move, and perhaps most importantly, the way I think about my health.

I've already lost some weight, but this journey has surprised me in ways I never expected.

The first thing I noticed wasn't my clothes fitting differently.

It was my mind.

I think more clearly. I have more energy throughout the day. Decisions that once felt difficult now feel surprisingly simple. It's as though the fog has begun to lift, and I didn't even realize how much of it had settled over me.

That's been one of the greatest gifts so far.

Now, before we go any further, I should probably confess something.

One of the best purchases I ever made was a pair of Skechers slip-on walking shoes.

Not because they were stylish.

Not because they made me faster.

I bought them because I was carrying enough extra weight that bending over to tie my shoes had become more difficult than I wanted to admit.

There. I said it.

At the time, they were simply practical.

Today, those same shoes have become my walking companions. They've carried me through countless steps and reminded me that progress often begins with solving one very ordinary problem.

Life has also reminded me that journeys rarely unfold exactly as planned. Just as I was preparing to add strength training to my routine, I fell and broke my arm. Surgery followed, and now I'm writing this with one arm still recovering.

That's real life.

It doesn't wait for convenient timing.

So instead of postponing everything until life becomes perfect, I've decided to keep moving forward however I can.

As my arm heals, I'll complete my first DEXA scan and begin tracking not only my weight but also my body composition. For now, I'm sharing my MeThreeSixty scan and my starting point because I want this journey to be honest from the very beginning.

You won't find perfection here.

You'll find progress.

You'll find victories worth celebrating and days that don't go as planned.

You'll find lessons I'm learning along the way, favorite products that have genuinely helped me, books that inspire me, skincare that makes me feel a little more confident, and the occasional story that might even make you laugh.

Most of all, I hope you'll find encouragement.

If you've been waiting for your own "someday," maybe this is your invitation too.

Not to follow my journey.

To begin your own.

Thank you for taking these first steps with me.

I'm so glad you're here.

Jennifer
