Six Beautiful Things That Make My House Feel Like Home

Timeless home décor finds that look luxurious—every one under $75.

There was a time when decorating meant filling empty spaces.

I needed a sofa. I needed lamps. I needed dishes. I needed end tables. I was building a home.

These days, shopping feels completely different. I no longer buy things because I need them. I buy them because they make me smile. I've become much more intentional about what I bring into my home, choosing fewer pieces but selecting ones that feel timeless, beautifully made, and full of character.

As I've gotten older, I've realized that the most beautiful homes aren't the ones filled with expensive things. They're the ones that feel collected over time. Every piece has a purpose. Every object tells a story. Every room reflects the people who live there.

I've also discovered that beautiful doesn't have to mean expensive.

Some of my favorite decorating pieces cost less than dinner at a nice restaurant, yet they bring me joy every single day. They're the little details that make my home feel warm, welcoming, and uniquely mine.

If you've followed Jennifer Maier Living for very long, you already know I believe in surrounding yourself with things that make everyday life a little more beautiful. Whether it's a hand-poured candle, a well-loved coffee table book, or a handcrafted vase, I want the things in my home to create a feeling—not just fill a space.

These are a few of my favorite discoveries, and every one of them costs less than $75.

🏺 Tuscan Ceramic Decorative Vase

There's something about this vase that makes it look as though it was discovered in a small Italian village instead of ordered online. Its weathered finish and timeless botanical pattern add warmth, texture, and old-world charm to any shelf, console, or dining table. Even sitting empty, it's a beautiful statement piece.

📚 Louis Vuitton: The Birth of Modern Luxury

Some books deserve to be displayed as much as they deserve to be read. This stunning coffee table book celebrates craftsmanship, design, and creativity while adding instant sophistication to a living room or study. It's one of those books guests can't resist picking up.

🪵 Hand-Carved Wooden Serving Tray

I love decorating with natural wood because it instantly makes a room feel warmer and more inviting. Whether I'm serving breakfast, displaying candles, or creating a simple centerpiece, this beautifully carved tray adds character without trying too hard.

🌿 Faux Decorative Topiaries

Every room needs a little greenery, but not everyone has a green thumb. These realistic topiaries bring freshness and life to a space year-round without requiring a single drop of water. They're one of my favorite ways to soften a room.

🫒 Hand-Painted Ceramic Olive Oil Dispenser

Why hide something you use every day? This hand-painted olive oil bottle turns an everyday kitchen staple into part of the décor. It sits proudly on my countertop and reminds me that even practical things can be beautiful.

🕯 Salt & Stone Bergamot + Hinoki Candle

Few things change the mood of a room faster than lighting a beautiful candle. This sophisticated blend of bergamot and hinoki creates a fresh, calming fragrance that makes my home feel peaceful, relaxed, and just a little more luxurious.

One Last Thought

When I was younger, I decorated because I thought I needed to fill a house. Today, I decorate very differently. I'm not looking for more things. I'm looking for the right things.

Pieces that make me pause. Pieces that remind me of places I've been, craftsmanship I admire, or the slower, more intentional life I'm trying to create. I've learned that a beautiful home isn't built in a weekend or purchased from a single store.

It's collected over time. One meaningful piece. One thoughtful choice. One beautiful discovery at a time. And I think that's what makes a house truly feel like home.
